There are 25 libraries located throughout South Lanarkshire. All offer adult and children's lending services to the local community.

    Biggar library opened in October 2009 and is attached to Biggar High School, adjacent to the community sport and gym facility. The library is an attractive space with 7 PCs in the activeIT learning centre as well as lending services including a DVD collection.

  • Bothwell Library

    Bothwell Library is situated close to the local shops at the heart of Bothwell community. The library provides a selection of adult fiction and non-fiction books, photocopier, DVDs, music CDs, newspapers, children's resources and events.

  • Burnbank Library

    The Burnbank Library is situated in Burnbank Centre, which is close to the Burgh Hall and local shops.

  • Libraries aren't just about books. Every library has an activeIT learning centre and many also offer free wifi.
  • Cambuslang Library

    Cambuslang Library provides a selection of adult fiction and non-fiction books, photocopier, DVDs and music CDs, newspapers, children's library and children's events, and a small collection of local history material. The library also has an ActiveIT learning centre offering 6 computers with printers and a scanner.

  • If you live, work or study in South Lanarkshire, there are 23 libraries and a mobile library where you can borrow books or DVDs, learn or just relax.
  • Carluke Library

    Carluke library is part of the South Lanarkshire Lifestyles facility which includes a community centre. Access is from Carnwath Road.

  • Using the South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture library service is free. Some of our enhanced services and facilities are however chargeable.
  • Cathkin Library

    Cathkin Library is situated above the local shops off East Kilbride Road at the corner of Lovat Road and is close to the Springhall Community Centre.

  • Our four main libraries hold extensive reference collections which are open to everyone to browse. Specialist reference staff are on hand to help you.
  • East Kilbride Library

    East Kilbride Central Library is a large public library offering an extensive selection of adult fiction and non-fiction books, photocopier, DVDs and music CD's, newspapers, children's library and events.

  • Fairhill Library

    Fairhill Library is a bright and modern library has fiction and non-fiction books plus music CDs , a DVD collection, newspapers and a photocopier.

  • Forth Library

    Forth Library is located within Forth Primary School on the main road through Forth, and is close to the local community centre. The library has convenient parking and is open outwith school hours

  • Greenhills Library

    Greenhills Library is a public library with adult fiction and non-fiction books, photocopier, DVDs, music CDs, newspapers, children's library and children's events.

  • Halfway Library

    Halfway Library provides a selection of adult fiction and non-fiction books, photocopier, DVDs, music CDs, newspapers, local history photographs of Halfway, children's library and children's events.

  • Larkhall Library

    Larkhall Library is situated on Union Street in the heart of the town. The library shares premises with South Lanarkshire Q&A and Money Matters together with other partners such as Citizens Advice. There is on street parking and dedicated parking at the rear of the building for disabled customers.

  • Lesmahagow Library

  • Rutherglen Library

    Rutherglen Library is a large library offering an extensive selection of adult fiction and non-fiction books, photocopier, DVDs, music CD's, newspapers, a collection of standard reference books, children's library with an IT area for children and young people with 4 PCs and organised children's events.

  • St Leonards Library
